SCHEME ONE

ENERGY COMPANY OBLIGATION (ECO)

Doors can often be draughty, causing heat to escape. Building regulations state that installing a new door requires approval from the relevant building’s control authority.

WHAT IS IT?

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government scheme aimed at helping those struggling with their energy bills. The government initiative encourages companies to reduce their carbon emissions and allows the UK to meet its carbon reduction targets.

HOW CAN IT HELP?

Energy suppliers deliver lifetime savings to households who may require help with their bills—oering sustainable energy solutions across England, Scotland and Wales.

SCHEME TWO

LOCAL AUTHORITY FLEXIBLE ENERGY

WHAT IS IT?

LA Flex scheme is there for the Local Authorities to further support their residents through the ECO scheme. This supporting programme allows residents who may not qualify for the ECO scheme to benefit from the available funding schemes.

HOW CAN IT HELP?

The LA Flex programme allows Local Authorities to increase the eligibility criteria to include health conditions, income levels and vulnerability.

SCHEME THREE

LOCAL AUTHORITY DELIVERY SCHEME

WHAT IS IT?

Announced by the Chancellor back in July 2020, The Green Homes Grant voucher scheme is committed to investing £2 billion to improve and upgrade homes across England. £500 million of this funding will be allocated to the Local Authority Delivery Scheme (LADs).

HOW CAN IT HELP?

This is to help improve the energy efficiency of low-income and low-energy performing properties (with an EPC rating of E, F, or G – although band D is also in scope in Phase 1B), including o-gas network homes.

THE WARM HOME FUND

WHAT IS IT?

The WHF has been put in place across England, Wales and Scotland to provide relief to homeowners and their families tackling fuel poverty.

HOW CAN IT HELP?

The £150 million scheme is here to assist those who don’t have gas heating as their primary heating source.
